Third Bridge Campsite – Moremi Game Reserve

Third Bridge Campsite – Moremi Game Reserve

Third Bridge Campsite is a popular and beautifully located site deep within Moremi Game Reserve, nestled near the Moanachira River and the third wooden bridge crossing that gives the site its name. Surrounded by floodplains, winding water channels, and mopane woodland, it offers access to some of the Okavango Delta’s most rewarding game-viewing routes.

The campsite offers individual stands with braai areas and access to shared ablutions. Facilities include flush toilets and hot showers, though there is no electricity or mobile signal. Campers must be entirely self-sufficient, bringing all necessary food, water, and supplies.

As the campsite lies within Moremi Game Reserve, daily park entry fees apply, payable at the gate or in advance at DWNP offices in Maun or Kasane. Third Bridge Campsite is managed by Xomae Group, and bookings can be made via their website: https://xomaesites.com.

The area is renowned for its abundance of wildlife. Game drives from the campsite frequently encounter elephants, buffalo, lechwe, lions, leopards, and a wide variety of bird species. The combination of riverine habitat and open floodplain makes for dynamic and rewarding sightings throughout the year.

Travel Note: Access to Third Bridge can be challenging. During the dry season, roads can become deep and sandy, while in the wet season they may be waterlogged with potentially impassable sections. A fully equipped 4x4 vehicle and solid off-road driving skills are essential.

Third Bridge offers an immersive, unfenced bush experience in one of Botswana’s most iconic wildlife regions — ideal for those seeking proximity to nature and the raw beauty of the Okavango.
